Abstract

280,755. Marston, R., and Baker, W. H. Feb. 5, 1927. Roll-top desks.-In a roll-top desk of the type which has a base 1, a roll-top 4, a casing to house the roll-top and side wings 6, the side wings are removable and are capable of occupying a vertical position, as shown in full lines, or a horizontal position, as shown in broken lines. The wings are adapted to drop down into grooves formed between vertical runners 7 and end pieces 8, dowel pins 9 maintaining them in position by engaging holes in the base. The base is also provided with holes with which the dowels engage when the side wings are horizontal struts 10 hinged to the side panels being also brought into operation for supporting purposes. A projection on the strut engages a groove 12 on the underside of the wings.
