Abstract

598,783. Tables. TAUCHERT, E. Sept. 10, 1945, No. 23270. [Class 52(iii)] A table comprises a table top and a supporting structure therefor in which the supporting structure is adapted to rest with either of two adjacent sides or faces uppermost upon which the table top is supported so that the table may be of either of two different heights. The supporting structure is an open rigid rectangular frame 1 in which one member 2 is arranged as shown while a member 3 arranged parallel to the member 2 is pivoted at 4 to the frame. The ends of the member 3 are arranged to slide in grooves in two members 7 fixed to the undersurface of the table top 5 and resting on the frame 1. To obtain a different height for the table the frame 1 is turned over on to an adjacent face and the table top 5 slid relatively to the member 3 and lowered on to the frame when in its adjusted position. Bolts at the sides lock the table top to the supporting frame in either position.
