Abstract

718,326. Furniture frames. HEAD, E. L. Aug. 17, 1953 [Aug. 18, 1952], No. 20756/52. Class 52(2) Furniture comprising a top supported on legs has the legs attached to the side members of the top unit in overlapping relationship. As shown a table top 1 has side members 5 at opposite ends the middle parts of such side members being deeper as at 6. At each end a leg unit comprising a pair of legs 10 jointed at the top by a trapezoidal member 11 is bolted or otherwise secured by screws to the side members 5. The dimensions of the leg units are such that the undersurface 14 will rest on the upper surface 15 of the leg units on the table immediately below it when a series of tables are nested together. The leg units of each piece of furniture may be arranged so as to splay out relatively to one another.
