Abstract
278,998. Bronander, W. B. July 1, 1926. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In an engine of the kind having a pair of inter-communicating cylinders with pistons 33, 34, which move in the same direction for the greater part of their strokes but out of step, the valve of a fuel injector 50 is opened by the piston 33 when the piston 34 is not at the end of its stroke. An injector 50A is similarly actuated by the piston 34, each piston striking the projection 54, Fig. 4, of a spring-pressed valve 52. The fuel is supplied by engine cylinder pressure from the reservoirs 55 and is controlled by a needle valve 57 actuated by manual rotation of the worm 61 or by axial displacement of the worm by a governor 64. Either of the injections may be rendered inoperative by closing the valve 57.
