Abstract

278,438. Hartley, W. July 8, 1926. Locking nuts.-In a lock-nut in which a member 10 is pivoted to a nut at 13 and pressed by a spring so that any tendency for the nut to unscrew increases the pressure between surfaces 10 on the member 10 and the thread, the surfaces 19 are formed-e.g. by a V groove-to engage opposite sides of the turn of the thread. A spanner, placed over the nut, engage the member 10 and so release the nut. The Provisional Specification describes surfaces 19 which engage the trough between the threads or more than one thread of the bolt.
