Abstract

278,150. Anderson, J. Aug. 31, 1926. Clamps, internal.- The inlet of an electric water heater &c. is connected to a tap c by means of a junction piece a, having a branch b leading to the heater, which is held in position by a pair of toggle claws e. Said claws e are secured on a common pivot pin f carried by a stem d which passes through the body a and is surrounded, within said body by a sleeve-g and spring h. The claws are actuated by screwing up a nut i provided on the projecting end of the stem d. Washers l, k are provided between the junction piece and the tap and adjusting nut respectively. In a modification, one claw only and a fixed projection may be used. To adapt the device to taps of different diameter an extra claw or pair of claws of suitable size may be employed, or each claw may be formed with two or more holes for the pivot pin, Fig. 5. Alternatively, each claw may be shaped to the form of a bell crank lever, Fig. 6. Specification 3799/90 is referred to.
