263,141. Britnell, C. A. Dec. 15, 1925, [Convention date]. Scrapers and cleaning- pins.- In screw-down cock connections for main and service or branch pipes, the valve proper, 10, provided with a scraper extension 16, is connected to the screwed stem 8 so as to be rotatable therewith but capable of relative longitudinal movement to enable it to act as a non-return valve when in the open position. For this purpose pins 13 on the valve spindle engage slots 14 in the stem 8 or vice versa. The scraper 16 may be integral with or secured to the valve member 10. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also an arrangement wherein the valve spindle is integral with the screwed stem. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
