Abstract
278,093. Smith, S. C., and Chemical & Metallurgical Corporation, Ltd. July 2, 1926. Lead carbonate.-In the production of lead carbonate by passing carbon dioxide into a suspension of lead chloride in a solution of ammonia, the carbon dioxide is passed into the suspension at such a rate that it passes into the form of lead carbonate as nearly as possible pari passu with its introduction into the suspension, and the presence of carbon dioxide in the solution is avoided as far as possible. Bv this means the lead carbonate obtained is substantially free of lead chloride. The lead chloride used in the process may be that obtained by known methods from ores, concentrates residues, &c. Specification 237,308 is referred to.
