Brakes, arrangement and disposition of. - In brake actuating gear for vehicles having four or more wheel brakes, a lever f connected to the brake-operating rod or cable e<1>, is actuated, independently, either by a cam a operated by the foot pedal through a rod d, or by a cam G operated by the hand brake lever n or, simultaneously, by both. The hand brake-lever n is rigidly attached to a spindle K2 on which is rigidly attached the cam G, the cam a being loosely mounted on the spindle. The spindle K2 is mounted in bearings in a bracket A attached to the vehicle and the lever f is mounted on a spindle PI carried by the same bracket. The rod e is adjustable in length and is connected to a cross-shaft N, Fig. 9, to which the front and rear brakes are connected through lever arms.
