Abstract

276,369. Chapelon, A. Aug. 21, 1926, [Convention date]. Blast apparatus.-A device for improving the draught in locomotive &c. boilers comprises a nozzle B positioned coaxially between the blast pipe and the smoke stack A and an exhaust tuyere D attached to or integral with the blast pipe, such tuyere being of cylindro-conical bore and provided internally with means for dividing the issuing gaseous jet. The nozzle B is of cylindricat or conical shape, and the apex angle of the conical part of the tuyere is approximately 30‹. The means for dividing the gaseous jet consist of baffles F of triangular cross-section disposed radially in the cylindrical portion of the tuyere. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also the tuyere as being applicable generally and the use of the baffles F as optional. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
