Abstract
276,026. Motorenfabrik Deutz Akt.- Ges. Aug. 16, 1927, [Convention date]. Tappet actuated pumps: stroke, varying; multiple-delivery piston pumps; regulating delivery by by-passes or return circuits.-The supplies of ignition oil and main oil to an injection internal-combustion engine are effected by plungers a, b, the plunger b being actuated by the plunger a at a certain point of its stroke. After this point the delivery of ignition oil ceases owing to the equality of the plunger areas. The area of the plunger a may be larger. in which case the supply of ignition fuel diminishes but does not cease. The supply of main fuel may be regulated by a piston m at a variable point in the stroke. The separation of the pistons may be lessened or eliminated to reduce or eliminate the supply of ignition oil e.g. by employment of engaging helicoidal surfaces on the ends of the pistons or on a pair of plates supporting the piston b at its upper end.
