Abstract

275,374. Haberkorn, V. June 11, 1926. Albumens.-Waste wool is dissolved in an alkaline solution, boiled and made slightly acid with sulphuric acid. The solution is used as a protecting medium for fibrous materials to be treated with liquids as in washing wool with ammonia or dyeing. By using a small proportion of water and heating to about 60‹ C., a precipitated product may be obtained which may be dried. From this product the solution may be again prepared by adding calcined soda thereto and dissolving in an acid solution until a slightly acid reaction is given.
