Abstract
273,329. Sulzer FrÞres Soc. Anon. June 28, 1926, [Convention date]. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In engines in which each combustion chamber is provided with two or more pairs of opposed fuel-injection nozzles, means are provided whereby fuel is simultaneously supplied to or cut off from the two nozzles constituting any pair. The Figure shows two pairs of nozzles 3. 5 and 2, 4 respectively connected bv pipes 6, 7 to valves 24, 25 controlling fuel supplied by pump lines 13, 14. The valves 24, 25 are actuated simultaneouslv or successively by cams 17, 18 and rockers 21, 23, and these rockers may be raised more or less out of action by links 20, 22 to a shaft 16. The link 22 is made longer than the other 20 so that the rocker 23 may be lifted clear of its cam, thereby cutting out the nozzles 2, 4 while leaving the others in action.
