July 28,1926 Hoods. - In vehicles provided with a sliding hatch adapted to close an aperture in the roof the hatch is provided with a transverse shaft 3 at each end of which is a pinion 4 adapted to engage a stationary rack 5 carried by the side rails 6 of the roof. The transverse shaft 3 is rotated by a rotary handle 8 geared to the shaft 3 by worm or bevel gearing or a chain gearing may be provided.
