223,789. Harding, A. J. Jan. 31, 1924. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Hoods.-As hood for motor vehicles, charabancs &c. comprises a number of rigid members adapted to be telescoped into one another and to be moved into an out-of-the-way position. The members 2 are shaped so that they may be telescoped, as shown in Fig. 5, into an end section 3, Fig. 1, and then turned down into the body of the vehicle by means of a bracket 13 having a toothed portion 12 in engagement with a pinion 10. The members 2 may be of steel, wood, celluloid, &c. The guides may be of any form and may, as shown in Fig. 1, comprise two parts 5, 6 arranged so as to telescope partially within one another and be carried by pivoted uprights 7, Fig. 3, so that they may be moved down on to the rail of the vehicle.
