Abstract

1305254 Vehicle doors R BERTOLINI 15 April 1970 [24 July 1969] 18046/70 Heading B7B [Also in Division E1] In a sliding door arrangement on a motor van or trailer, two sliding panels 2, 3 for closing a loading opening are suspended from respective inner and outer tracks 6, 9 arranged along the upper edge of the opening and are located when closed within the thickness of the wall 7 of the van or trailer body 1. The inner track 6 is secured to the upper edge of the opening, and the outer track 9 is hinged at 10 to a longitudinal strip 11 which is pivotally connected to the wall 7 by a flexible strip 12 so that it can be rotated outwardly to move the track 9 upwards and outwards and position the panel 3 outside the panel 2. The tracks 6, 9 are formed by oppositely-disposed similar sections and track rollers 5 are oppositely connected to plates 4 on the panels 2, 3 so that the closed panels are aligned with one another and are flush with the outer surface of the wall 7. A longitudinal strip 17 connected along the lower edge of the opening by a hinge 9 clamps the closed panels 2, 3 against the edge of the loading floor 19. Pivoting of the strips 11, 17 is effected by means of a hand lever 14 connected to the strip 11 through a linkage 13, 15.
