Abstract

272,058. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., and Warren, H. W. H. July 13,1926. Indicators actuated by floats.- A liquid-level indicator particularly for motorcar radiators consists of a float - actuated magnet 16 which controls the position of a pivoted counterweighted magnet 12 supporting an arm 11 carrying an indicating disc 10. The magnet 16 is supported in a tube secured to the radiator cap by a pin engaging a slot in the tube. In a modification, the float is freely supported in a perforated cylinder secured to the cap. A thermometer consisting of a bimetallic strip 7 connected to a pivoted toothed-quadrant 6 which actuates a pointer 3 may be combined with each indicator.
