Abstract
388,999. Electric signalling systems. ELECTROFLO METERS CO., Ltd. and DUNGLINSON, B., Abbey Road, Park Royal, London. July 25, 1932, No. 20891. [Class 40 (i).] Apparatus for indicating, integrating or recording the height or flow of liquids comprises a float a adapted to operate a resistance element b through the intermediary of a rotatable shaft i carrying a counter - weighted pulley k attached to the float by a cord or tape j. The cord may be made of a material having a negligible coefficient of expansion, e.g. that known under the registered Trade Mark " Invar." The resistance element b is raised or lowered in conducting liquid e, e.g. mercury, to vary the resistance of the indicating circuit in accordance with the movements of the liquid and the form of the element, e.g. the contour and cross section, may be varied to suit the characteristics of the law underlying the, movements to be indicated. The indicating circuit may be supplied with alternating or direct current. The shaft i may carry a pointer n co-operating with a dial o.
