Abstract
277,906. Stallan, W. J., and Freestone, A. W. May 17, 1927. Thermometers. - In a thermometer for automobile radiators, of the kind in which a helical bimetallic strip actuates an indicator, the indicator and the bimetallic strip are contained in a single casing and are attached directly to a single spindle mounted in bearings in the casing. The indicator 8 in the form of a drum is secured to the upper end of the spindle 5 within an enlargement 2 of the casing 1 and the bimetallic strip 9 is mounted with one end 10 secured to the lower end of the casing and with the other end 11 secured to the spindle 5. Windows 3 are provided for observation of the indicator. Specification 212,182 is referred to.
