Abstract

269,782. Boardman, H. H. Aug. 30, 1926. Indicators actuated by floats. - A liquid-level gauge suitable for a boiler comprises a tube 11 of D-section, of brass or .other non-magnetic metal, connected at its two ends to the boiler. A float 12 has a projection 15 adapted to slide between guides 27, and contains a permanent magnet 19 having its poles at the liquid level, and adjacent to the flat wall 17 of the tube 11. A light armature 24 of iron or steel wire, in a closed chamber - 22 having a transparent front 23, follows the movements of the magnet, and indicates the level. The flat wall 17 may be strengthened by a central vertical bar between the magnet poles.
