Indicating.-In a U-tube pressure gauge the indicating mechanism is associated wholly with the leg 11 and comprises a float 25 adapted to turn a spindle 29 through rack-and-pinion gearing. A pivoted permanent magnet 32 arranged outside the casing follows the movement of a permanent magnet 31 fixed to the spindle 29, and carries a pointer 35 moved over a scale plate 35<a>.
