Indicating particular readings. - In an instrument which allows direct comparison to be made between the pressure within a furnace and the pressure difference between this point and the chimney damper, the pressures are indicated by pointers of which the extremities 37, 38 move over an arc - shaped scale 31. Sliding plates 39, 40 carrying indicators for particular readings can be adjusted so as to indicate the conditions of draught for maximum efficiency. A rotating disk-recorder is provided. In the apparatus shown in Fig. 4, in which a pair of inclined tubes 58, 59 containing liquid are employed to measure the pressures, adjustable sliding plates 64, 65 with particular-reading indicators mark the desired conditions, as before.
