Wireless tuning-apparatus, adjustment devices for.-In variable electric condensers of the kind m which two concentric shafts 1, 4 one within another control the rotor, one 4 directly and the other 1 through a train of reducing gearing for fine adjustment, and in which the last member 13 of the train is connected to the shaft 4 by a friction clutch allowing the shaft 4 to be turned tor direct control without operating the gear train, the intermediate spindle 10 of the train is supported by two springs 18 anchored at their ends to the frame of the condenser and bearing at a point between their ends on the spindle 16 near its ends to press gears 9, 10 on the spindle 16 against the gear 13 and a small gear 3 on the shaft 1. Play due to wear is thus compensated for and independent lateral movements of the gears 9, 10 allowed. During direct control by the knob 21 on the shaft 4, springs 14, 15 forming the friction clutch slip over the gear 13. The shaft 16 passes through openings in the end plate 8 and in plates 10, 11 secured to the plate 8 by screws 19, 20 against which the spring 17, 18 bear. The gearing may comprise friction rollers as shown or toothed pinions or friction discs.
