Abstract

271,315. Barrie, D. W. Oct. 4, 1926. Ventilation systems. - Elements forming a damp course and ventilator to be built into a wall consist of flat metal plates 1, 2 secured to both sides of a corrugated metal sheet 3. The plates 1, 2 project on the edges 1<a>, 2b so that adjacent elements may bond. Deeper elements have two corrugated sheets. Projections 5 may be formed on the plates to key with the cement fixing. The spaces 3b form ventilating openings, but some may be filled with bitumen or may contain reinforcing bars 3<c>. The front is covered with a perforated plate 6<c>, or with a plain sloping plate having an apertured inturned lower flange. The elements may form a tie for a double or cavity wall and are then provided with an aperture over the cavity.
