Abstract

269,791. Boyd, J. Oct. 6, 1326. Supporting metal pipes.-Pipes fixed on the exterior of buildings are made triangular to make them unclimbable. The pipes may be secured with one or more sides flat against the wall in the following ways :-by straps c as in Fig. 1; by bolts to a metal plate h of the building as in Fig. 3, brickwork d and cement e being in some cases supported by thin plate; by turning in plates f of the building as in Figs. 4 and 5; and by securing it at one corner of .the building by straps as in Fig. 7. The triangular shape of the cross-section is isosceles, the angle at the apex being obtuse down to a right angle.
