370,446. Nonconducting coverings for sound. BAMBERGER, J. J., 56, Whitcomb Street, Leicester Square, London. Jan. 6, 1931, No. 484. [Class 64 (ii).] A wall plate for improving the acoustic properties of buildings, and formed before application to the wall, is composed of sound-absorbing or other plaster 14 with a canvas or like strengthening layer 11, and is concave on its face 12 which is directed towards the wall. The concavity of the plate may have a circular periphery 13, with flat extensions 16 with a rectangular periphery 17, so as to enable the plate to be anchored to the wall. The strengthening layer may extend to the rectangular periphery of the plate.
