Abstract
314,139. Mountjoy, R. G. March 29, 1928. Roofs and roofing.-Flashing 5 is spaced from the upturned edge of non-metallic sheet roofing by a tongue, strip, or rib 7, Fig. 1, or 10, Fig. 3, so that air spaces 9<a>, 9<b> are formed which prevent water from creeping up between the parts. The strip 7 may be folded sheet metal, with flanges 8, one of which is inserted between the plies of the sheeting 1; the rib 10 is of wood or vulcanite secured to or unitary with the fillet 3. The flashing may be secured to the wall by wedges as described in Specification 304,077, and a top covering 2 of concrete, gravel, or tarred macadam may be applied over the sheeting 1.
