[Class 20 (iv)] Roofing tiles are secured to the battens j by means of U-shaped clips a of the form shown in Figs. 2, 3, which are made of steel strip 'with longitudinal stiffening ribs b. The shorter limb is cranked at e so that it snaps over the batten, while the longer limb has an end depression g to engage the tile. One or more nail-holes h may be provided to allow the clip to be nailed to the batten if required. In general it is sufficient to fit clips to the tiles in every third row as shown in Fig. 1.
