Abstract

For quick installation, without skilled labour and without using mortar which may later work loose, the element for covering the ridge of a sloping roof has two lengthways flanges (2, 3) connected by a covering piece. Where this piece crosses over to each flange there is an inward-protruding undercut section (5), combining with the flange concerned to form a groove (6) to hold the end of roof tile or stone. The flange incorporates and lengthways stop ledge (8), facing into the groove to hold the tile or stone firmly in place. Grooves may contain ventilation holes. The element can be nailed or otherwise fixed to rafters.
