Abstract
271,257. Burndept Wireless, Ltd., Phillips, C. F., and Turner, P. K. June 14, 1926. Aerials; undesired signals, eliminating; thermionic amplifiers.-The loop aerial described in Specification 254,036 which comprises two opposing parts only one of which was tuned by a condenser, is modified in two respects. Firstly the two parts a, b, Fig. 1, are wound on two frames in parallel planes close together with the corresponding sides at an angle. for example 45‹. Secondly the tuned part a, Fig. 2, connected between the plate and grid of a thermionic valve and the untuned part b is connected between the tuned parts and the filament. The end of the untuned part remote from the filament is connected to the point on the tuned part connected to the plate, or to a point on the tuned part between the points connected to the plate and the grid, or an intermediate point of the tuned part is connected to the plate and the untuned part is connected to the end of the tuned part beyond the intermediate point. Reaction is controlled by a variable condenser c.
