Abstract
359,500. Valve amplifying circuits. KOLSTER-BRANDES, Ltd., Cray Works, Sidcup, Kent.-(Kolster Radio Corporation; 200, Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A.) July 23, 1930, No. 22247. (Class 40 (v).] A radio receiving system comprises a thermionic valve having input and output circuits oppositely tuned to each other with respect to the working frequency, the whole network including the valve being resonant to the working frequency. The input 18, Fig. 1, of a high frequency amplifier 13 may be tuned to a frequency below the working frequency and the output circuit 23 to a frequency above the working frequency, the whole network 12 being resonant at that frequency. The output circuit is connected to the grid of 13 over a blocking condenser 27 while the degree of regeneration is controlled by a variable tapping from the grid circuit of 13 to a potentiometer 39. The received signal may be modulated by a valve 36, the input of which is from an audio-frequency source 37. The application of the circuit to a short-wave receiving system employing a parabolic reflector is described, Fig. 3 (not shown), while in Fig. 4 (not shown) two circuits such as 12, Fig. 1, are employed in cascade.
