Abstract

Paper-shelves.- A shelf or table consists of a sheet-metal stamping having at each end an arm which is bent at right-angles to the table and is forked to engage a support about which the table can be rocked into normal or inoperative position. The table 1 shown in the Figure is formed at each end with a depending forked arm 3 which engages a rod K on the carriage A and is retained by bending the tine 4 into contact with the tine 5, the tine 4 having a reduced part 7 to facilitate bending. In the normal position, a flange 9 on the table rests on a scale F, and when the table is rocked to inoperative position the movement is limited by contact of lugs 8 on the arms with the stop-bar M. The table is retained in either position by means of a spring 11 having a loop 11 engaging a groove in a pin 16 on one of the arms 3. The spring is coiled round a pin 12 on the carriage and the end 13 abuts on the stop-bar M.
