Abstract

733,055. Typewriters. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Dec. 28, 1953 [Dec. 31, 1952], No. 35982/53. Class 100 (4). A type-lever rest comprises a resilient flatsided arcuate-shaped element 2 supported for radial movement and urged inwardly towards the type-levers by a spring 18. The element support consists of arcuate plates 10, 11, at least one of which has fingers 13 bifurcated and bent to secure the other. These fingers extend through apertures 14 in the element 2 and serve as stops to the radial movement of the element 2. The spring 18 is relatively light and is covered with a flexible tubular member 22 formed by a wire wound in a direction opposite to that of spring 18. The apertures 14 towards the ends of the arcuate element may be shallower than those in the centre.
