Abstract

269,667. Tutin, J. Jan. 22, 1926. Rudders. - A balanced rudder is constructed with the plating laterally displaced in way of the screw race. The rudder post 5, Figs. 1 und 2. carries arms 4 and plating 2 situated on one side thereof above the level of the propeller axis and with the arms 4 and plating 3 on the opposite side below that level, the arms extending forwardly at 4<a> beyond the stern post 7. The plating 1 at the propeller level is placed on the fore and aft line. The plating may be straight as in Fig. 6, and may be divided as in Fig. 11.
