Abstract
269,325. Quig, J. E. April 12, 1926. Letting-off warps; warps, tensioning and guiding.-A warp beam is provided with pulleys 14 around which pass chains 16 anchored at one end and secured at their other ends to levers 20 mounted on a shaft 21 having a lever connected by a link 25 to an arm 28 on a shaft 30 which carries an arm 39 connected by a link 41 with a weighted lever 44. A whip roll is freely mounted on the shaft 30, a second whip roll 37 being carried bv an arm 38 on the shaft 30 or on a bracket. The warp passes from the warp beam over the whip roll 37 and under and over the whip roll on the shaft 30. When the tension of the warp increases, the shaft 30 is turned in opposition to the action of the weighted lever 44, and the braking action of the chains on the pulleys 14 of the warp beam is reduced.
