Abstract

183,227. Brigg, T. H. April 18, 1921. Addition to 162,695. Letting-off warps.-Apparatus, as described in the parent Specification, for regulating and maintaining a uniform tension of the warp comprises a weight-carrier 9, Fig. 1, supported by rollers on a balance-lever f and on a slightly inclined arm 6<a>, and a feeler l, which is guided by pulleys and is kept in contact with the warp by a flexible band 15 attached to a drum 13, Fig. 2, on a sleeve 12 carrying a spring drum 14. As the diameter of the warp decreases, the feeler rises and the weight-carrier is moved proportionately towards the fulcrum of the lever f by means of a flexible band 16 attached to the drum 14. A flexible member h attached to the lever f transmits the tension to clips c surrounding ruffles at one or both ends of the warp beam, the other end of the member h being attached to a tension-releasing lever m.
