Abstract

341,162. Tensioning and letting off loom warps. BRITISH COTTON INDUSTRY RESEARCH ASSOCIATION and SHORTER, S. A., Shirley Institute, Didsbury, Manchester. Nov. 5, 1929, No. 33579. [Class 142 (ii).] The varying position of the warp h between the beam a and a rod g<1> carried by a lever g connected with the beam brakes b is used for regulating the warp tension. As the beam empties the warp h approaches the lever g and the effect of its pull, which assists the loading weight on the arm d<3>, diminishes. Specifications 2258/66,1105/80, and 7368/85, [all in Class 142, Weaving &c.], are referred to.
