Abstract

314,253. Wood, A. E., (Crompton & Knowles Looms Works). Aug. 1, 1928. Weft-inserters not carrying bobbins, cops, and the like, looms with. - The crank 33 which operates the needle 22 of an Axminster or like loom through a sector and pinion 11, 14 is constantly driven, preferably uniformly, by gearing 50, 35 and is connected with the sector 11 by linkwork 53, 55, 62 which will give the needle a long dwell when out of the shed and a shorter dwell when in the shed. The link 53 is slightly longer than the length of the crank 33 and the pivots 57, 63 are adjustable in the frames 10 and in the sector 11 respectively.
