[Classes 142 (ii) and 142 (iii)] The warp threads 1, Fig. 2, pass through a fixed reed 2 and are guided in an oblique direction by the oblique teeth of a reed 4 moving with the lay and also moved laterally thereon by bands, cables, or chains 6 passing over pulleys or pinions 7 and attached to fixed points 8, or by the double pulley arrangement 7, 7<a> shown or by cam-controlled arrangements described. Temples ; breast beams.-The fabric 25 passes over a temple comprising pin wheels or pulleys 18, Fig. 10, parallel to the oblique warp threads and loosely mounted on the hub-like parts of members 20 housing a rod 22 secured to a support 21. The fabric next passes over stretching bars 26, Fig. 5, and an inclined bar 27 acting as a breast beam, and it is wound up on a roller 28. The bar 27 may be supported above or below the fabric by the usual breast beam. Two bars 27 may be used.
