[Class 142 (iv)] A ribbon or strap woven with longitudinally spaced slits c<1> has the intermediate portions e strengthened by weft threads g which pass around the inner selvedge warp threads b, bl and alternate in pairs with wefts extending over the whole width of the fabric. The wefts g may be inserted on opposite sides of the fabric alternately and may not extend to the outer selvedges.
