Abstract
490,696. Looms. WALKER, W. Feb. 24, 1937, No. 5509. [Class 142 (ii)] Warps are led from a creel C of skeleton formation through guides C' or over rods C<4> in the creel, through a reed R, over a segmental or rod-like guide D, between the staggered, relatively movable rollers T, T' of a tensioning device and so to the healds H of a loom. The bobbins B may, as shown, be carried on spindles B<1> bearing on cross-members C<2>, or may be carried in trays or slides movable drawerwise in the creel. The reed R may comprise either one or more perforated panels R<1> slid into guides R<3> and held by screwed rods R<5>, or a series of scalloped-edge bars clamped together. The rollers T of the tensioning device are supported in a frame A having a bracket A<4> movable up and down on a screw-threaded shaft A<2> by gearing A<5>, A<6> via a shaft A<7> and handle A<8> from, e.g. the front of the loom.
