The coils 1 - - 6 are divided, earthed at one end on the iron of the core and may be connected in parallel at the other end and then, through bare conductors e f, to the iron of the core, shown in Fig. 2; or they may be divided into two groups, the coils of each group being connected in parallel and the two groups connected through live conductors e, f, as shown in Fig. 3.
