Abstract
786,541. Generators with permanent magnets. KOBER, W. Oct. 5, 1955, No. 28394/55. Class 35. In a generator with the stator and rotor axially displaced side-by-side, the rotor consists of permanent magnets axially disposed and completely surrounded throughout their lengths by highly conductive material such as copper, aluminium or aluminium or magnesium alloy. In Fig. 6 the non-magnetic block 10 has holes to receive the cylindrical magnets 9, the end faces of which, with or without separate polepieces, face the disc type stator 7 shown in Fig. 3 wherein 14 represents a magnetic backplate, while block 10 could be laminated. The magnet assembly could have an outer tube of non-magnetic steel or a sheath formed of binding wire. Other forms show eighteen circumferentially spaced bar magnets of rectangular section and two longitudinally sub-divided magnets of semi-circular section, all axially magnetized. Fig. 2 (not shown) illustrates a machine of known type with the stator surrounding the rotor.
