Abstract

268,127. Dewrance, Sir J. March 20,, 1926. Valves fitted with independently-actuated supplementary valves.-A stop-valve of the sliding gate type for controlling steam or water pipes of considerable size is provided with a double seated bye-pass valve 10 having a port 13 between the seats 11, 12 permanently communicating with the hood of the main valve so that said hood may be connected to whichever side of the gate-valve is for the time being used as the inlet side. According to the Provisional Specification, the bye-pass valve may be actuated by a screw or by a rack and pinion.
