Abstract

267,239. Linotype & Machinery, Ltd., and Spence, F. Dec. 14, 1925. Set-off, preventing; rotary machines.-In rotary two-colour machines of the kind in which the transfer cylinder between two impression cylinders is fitted with strips along the margin lines to prevent set-off of ink on to the cylinder, the strips are arranged so as to be adjustable longitudinally of the transfer cylinder 1. The strips 7 are preferably L-shaped in cross-section, and are secured at their ends to dovetail blocks 5, 6 adjustable in grooves 2, 3 in the cylinder 1. The strips 7 are secured in recesses in the blocks 6 by means of screws 9, and then the others ends of the strips are secured to the blocks 5 by means of screws 10 fitted with washers 11<a> which holds the blocks 6 in their adjusted position, and clamp the strips to the blocks. The ends 11 of the strips are formed with tabs to enable them to be pulled taut, and with slots to receive the screws 10.
