Linear-dimension gauges.- Comprises means for measuring the thickness of rods and tubes, particularly of glass, consisting of two feeler rollers gripping between them the continuouslyfed rod to be measured, one of the rollers having a fixed axis and the other being carried on an axis by one arm of a lever, the other arm of which is spring-urged and engages a pointer movable over a scale. The rod 1 is fed between a roller 2 whose axis is fixed and a roller 3 the axis of which is carried in the end of a lever 6 movable about a pivot 5, the roller 3 being held up to the rod by a spring 7. The end 8 of the lever moves in a slot 9 of a pivoted indicating needle 11 moving over a scale 12. The pointer may engage a contact at the maximum limit in one direction or the other and cause an acoustic or optical signal to be given.
