[Class 106 (ii).] A n instrument for measuring fingers for finger rings and analogous uses comprises an arm having a graduated scale at one end and a pointer pivoted to the arm and having one end movable over the scale, the other end and the adjacent end of the arm having arcuate recesses beyond the pivot to form an incomplete sizing ring into which the finger is introduced. A sectorshaped graduated scale a is secured to an arm c pivoted to which by a screwed pin e<3> is a pointer d. The ends of the arm and pointer have semicircular recesses c<2>, d<2> to constitute an incomplete sizing ring into which the finger is placed and the reading is taken on the scale which is graduated in terms of the usual alphabetical sizes. A terminal spring f surrounds the pivot pin e<2> the ends being anchored to pegs g, g2. Pegs g<2> are provided over which a ring may be placed and the arms moved apart to measure its size. Recesses c<3>, d4 are provided to form a wire gauge the scale being graduated at the back for this purpose, the graduations cooperating with a pointer d<5> off set from the first pointer with the scale lying between the pointers. An abutment a<2> limits the movement of the pointer. A series of holes h are provided for gauging precious stones. The pointer may be indirectly pivoted to the arm c by linkwork.
