Abstract

249,580. Linn, J. D. Nov. 22, 1924. Indicating, optical devices for. - A device to facilitate the reading of the subdivisions of the scale of a measure instrument comprises a casing 2, Figs. 1 and 2, having an object glass 3 adapted to project the image of the graduated scale 1 upon a translucent screen 4 provided with a diagonal ruling. The screen 4 is carried in a cell 5, Fig. 3, having a projection 6 that bears against an eccentric recess 7 in a rotatable ring 8 under the action of springs 9, 10. By this means the diagonal scale is movable parallel to the scale 1 in the direction of its length. The diagonal scale may consist of a single sloping line graduated along its length or comprise a number of spaced sloping lines intersected by lines at right-angles to the graduations of the main scale 1.
