Abstract

353,572. Adjusting wireless apparatus. HICKS, A. F. M., 97, Kenilworth Avenue, Wimbledon Park, London. May 14, 1930, No. 14844. [Class 37.] In a scale and index for wireless and other electrical apparatus a hair line is inclined to and intersects the scale graduations, secondary divisions being provided for reading fractions of a main scale division. Fig. 1 shows one form of the invention in which a scale provided on a drum connected to the wireless apparatus is viewed through an aperture 42 across which stretches an indicating member 43. The graduations 44 of the scale are inclined and the position of their intersection with the member 43 is indicated by lines 45 on the drum scale. Four other forms of the invention are described. (1) The member 43 is graduated, the lines 45 then being omitted. (2) The graduations 44 are parallel with the axis of the drum and the indicating member is inclined thereto and is graduated. (3) The scale is of protractor form, Fig. 4, having non-radial graduations 51, the indicating member 49 being graduated and carried by a radial arm 50. (4) The scale markings are inclined but the graduations on the indicating member do not extend to the full width of the scale. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 15026/97, 27108/05, 24349/07 and 319,209, [all in Class 143, Weighing-apparatus.]
