Abstract

265,382. Whitehead, S. W. M. Feb. 11. 1926. Falling streams commingling. - A mixing apparatus, more particularly for dry materials for feeding animals, &c., comprises a number of receiving hoppers which deliver the material in ,converging streams into a mixing hopper beneath which is a pyramid or cone and a storage chamber having outlets through which the mixed materials are delivered into a trough. As shown, the receiving hoppers a, provided with covers p and outlets controlled by adjustable slides i, discharge into the mixing hopper c. The hoppers a and c may be formed as a single removable structure. The pyramid or cone d extends nearly to the edges of the storage chamber e leaving openings f which are normally closed by pivoted channels w connected to the pivoted lids s of the trough. On the lid being lifted by the animal the contents of the channel are discharged into the box. Pivoted, spring-controlled closures may be employed for the openings f.
